Tribute to Terry Oldfield
RIP Terry Oldfield – 1st April 1939 - 28TH March 2018
The BRFPA were very saddened to hear of the death of one of our first members, Terry Oldfield, who died on 28th March at the age of 78.
Terry, a proud Bristolian, played for Rovers between 1960 and 1966, and made 132 Football League appearances, scoring 11 goals. Sadly, injury forced Terry’s early retirement in 1967, aged just 28, whilst with Wrexham.
Less than a year ago we were honoured to have Terry as a guest at the inaugural BRFPA Dinner, sitting with his old friend and team mate Harold Jarman. Terry was also a very handy cricketer and I quizzed the pair on their cricketing prowess, and how several players, including Harold, managed to compete at high levels in both sports.
Mr. Oldfield will be sorely missed by all at the BRFPA, and we would like to pass on our respects and condolences to his friends and family.
